A result of investment being poured into the city and the fact that its desirability as a place to live is increasing too. Consequently demand in popular neighborhoods is putting pressure on housing that helps maintain values and ensures that the area’s geographic catchment grows.
But what are Bangkok’s most exclusive neighborhoods? It can be hard to pinpoint these locations for anyone not living in the city, therefore this guide will help answer this to enable the easier navigation around the capital.
1. Sukhumvit.
This area has long been at the attention of much of the city’s development since it is a popular place to live amongst locals and expatriates alike that has been driven by the BTS Sukhumvit/Light Green Line that runs high above the main road here. Since this district is vast, it can be divided into mid, lower and upper Sukhumvit with amenities scattered throughout this suburb.
Whilst Sukhumvit as a whole is considered to be one of Bangkok’s exclusive neighborhoods, much of the hype is focussed around Asoke which is home to ASHTON Asoke, Phrom Phong where ASHTON Residence 41 is based and also Thong Lor which will soon be home to another one of Ananda’s condominiums. For a full lowdown on this area please refer to our Sukhumvit area guide.
2. Silom.
Once just known to be the financial district of Bangkok, Silom’s central position has also accredited this part of the city as a much loved place to live too. Supplemented further by the fact that when the office leavers work, Silom is quiet in the evenings and especially so at the weekend. New restaurants are opening in their drones to feed this demand and its strategic location on the BTS that snakes through the high rise buildings here allows residents to reach any corner of Bangkok in a breeze. Ananda were quick to cotton on to this and ASHTON Silom and ASHTON Chula Silom were born with their exclusive brand matching this exclusive neighborhood.
3. Lumphini.
Lumphini Park is Bangkok’s most prized space of public greenery. Frequented by locals who want to enjoy outdoor activities, the pocket north of the park, south of Rama I/Ploen Chit Road, east of the Royal Bangkok Sports Club and west of Soi Rum Ruedi is called the Lumphini area and is undoubtedly one of Bangkok’s most exclusive neighborhoods. As a result, land prices are at a premium here and due to land ownership rights, many condominiums can only be sold on a leasehold rather than freehold basis making for a less attractive investment asset. This has enabled surrounding areas to flourish and condominiums such as IDEO Q Chidlom Phetchaburi that sit within the outskirts allow people to live within close vicinity of this much loved area even if they do not have a price tag to match. Our Ananda Sales Representative will be able to guide you on any of these areas or these particular condominiums. To find out more, please register your interest here.
